That's hard? What is the handler actually doing? I mean, in terms of the dog's behavior?

Thats a bunch of BS...

If you have the proper timing and HEART a healthy woman can train any hand dog as well as a man.

hardness should be measured also in relation to the drive of the dog at that moment , it is very well possible that this dog will response very different to corrections like these in low drive during obedience for example

hard dogs can be trained more easy than stubborn dogs imo

Id say hard in the sense of not going down in drive after corrections or hand as in a dog that has difficulty learning through compulsion in the presence of a prey bite.  However this dog dosnt show in this video to be a handler agressive a** hole type of hard dog.  Ive seen dogs from several breeds that would have eaten the handler for those corrections.

You think that will kill drive?

troublelinx,

I have seen another video of this dog in which she did show handler aggression. That video is now listed as private.

That poor female - unfair corrections -but the handler aggression was because of the the handler just yanking for no reason..........  I think even a soft dog would come up on the handler for these corrections - a soft dog wouldnt just take it and take it - it would be fight and flight.....

I personally don't see that she is a hard dog - only that she had no training from a moron and didnt know what was expected of her.........  Same dog with training wouldn't be hard in my opinion.... she would be very compliant......  This video doesnt show anything.........

Not sure why some trainers - I won't say just men - think that you get more with muscle than with brains............  These dogs learn so fast -the man in the video wasnt a trainer - he was a man that thinks because he has something between his legs it makes a difference.......

I have what I think is a "hard, strong" dog, but ANY woman could handle him.  If hard and strong is supposed to mean a dog that's stubborn and has no respect for the handler, then maybe that kind of dog has it's place somewhere, but I'd want nothing to do with it.

I think men with alot of unnecessary testosterone think that if you don't have alot of it - then a dog won't work for you.    But Beauty did calm the Beast....  Always fighting with a dog is so much harder and unnecessary  - from my experience it is usually men that think they have something to prove  and lack something in their own genetic pool..........
