We used the large red kongs for most of our youngsters. Our 11 month old girl was eating them so she got a black kong, a little tougher rubber. She only gets the black king kongs now..... We also had good luck with the edible nyla brand bones with the younger pups and dogs, some have no plastic added so are pretty good. Our vet recommended be careful with the ultra hard plastic as they are seeing more dogs needing dental work from cracked teeth that get the ultra hard plastic bones.

I usually have good luck with the rope toys. I dip them in beef broth and throw them in the freezer. Its cool and tasty and they love it. Of course, you have to be careful with the rope starts to fray.

i agree with 4pack i think it is a shame that so many dogs these days are treated like antique china by super paranoid owners, and these same owners wonder why their dogs have issues. i have a v1 kkl1 bitch that i payed 12000 for. this dog does not live a show life. she romps in woods, swamp and creeks nearby. she does everything my working dogs do.

i do have this to add. swallowing chunks is not biggest problem. combination of rh and saliva promote the growth of highly toxic bacteria. between chew sessions, rh is stored in freezer and boiled a few before playtime. also for pups, chips are easier to grab than bones.
