Yes. They started drinking water when they started on solids / puppy mush.

Then just allow mum to pop in when she wants and pop back out when she's had enough. No need to keep her away and that could upset her, she'll dry up fine if left to nature. Actually trying to force the process *drying up* can cause mastitis. I've sent you an article have a read through it, it's very helpful :)
