I don't breed. Don't agree with breeding. Too many dogs dying unnecessarily in shelters. Breed away Blitzen. All my dogs have been tested on my buck and not one of them are ever going to breed. I will test but I wouldn't test to make a breeding decision. I have email from Dr. Coates and Dr. Tonomura at Broad Institute sent to me last Friday.

No problem Joanro. The money is peanuts, but okay if you and more think otherwise. Just that I think it is more to the point, so what? What do you think they do with this bumper crop of a profit? Probably help with more research? Wow, damn criminal of them!

Blitzen doesn't 'breed away" Gwen. I just bred my first GSD litter yesterday and have been in dogs since 1969.

Hey thanks Joan! You are correct. That numbers and amount does add up. I could go into offa database right now. Calculate every dog that has been tested and come back with an exact amount made thus far. No one said a word about getting rich. But they are benefitting off of a test that has flaws. Including a "clear" GSD, a clear Chessie and a "clear" Berner. How many dogs haven't been necropsied? Think about that! More people don't do it or won't for emotional reasons than do it. So who knows really how many clears actually had DM upon death? No one! Not even Dr. Coates. Not any researcher. Because the majority will not follow through with necropsy.

Test don't test...no one is forcing you to do either.

LOL@Gwen. Would you feel better if I said you gals think like nuts? Get real, and get your big girl panties on.
by Blitzen on 23 April 2012 - 22:04
I guess I just don't get it, Bee. Testing for DM is not a requirement for registering a litter with AKC or the SV. Ergo it is optional. What's the big freaking deal?
by beetree on 23 April 2012 - 22:04
Blitzen, that would be the $64,000 dollar question, wouldn't it?
by Blitzen on 23 April 2012 - 22:04
Indeed........

More little girl pathetic liberal name calling. Go for it. Makes you feel good. The only ones needing big girl panties on are the ones calling names. Enjoy your games. It becomes more amusing to me by the minute. I don't know how many times I have to say all 3 of my dogs have been tested. With my money. But it sure wasn't to claim breed worthiness. Since the test has flaws and Dr. Coates's email that I have in my "in box" stated that. So have fun with your name calling. The last laugh will be on you in about 10 years. Shrug I tested. Never told anyone on this forum not to test. I wouldn't rely on it for breeding. But I would never breed. Hey ya wanna sell a puppy to a Nut like me. Can't imagine how you screen puppy buyers. Not in this day and time.
