She looks like a 'dear' to me....not a deer! Good luck with your new lady, may you have a wonderful life together, & thank you for rescuing her. jackie harris

I think she's purebred and a mix of lines. I think she's young, too, probably 9 to 18 months. That's the prime age when people dump them because they haven't put any time into training them or teaching them manners. For 10 years I was in rescue and I specialized in the 8-18 month old males. I loved them-- they had no training, no manners, and they'd just blossom with a little time, effort, and training.

Every thing, to me, points to under one year ASL. She looks lost and bewildered. She's fortunate to have a chance to thrive with you.

look up the DDC vets, they have breed DNA testing to see what breed you might have.

she looks american showlines , the ears are a dead give away, but could also maybe have a little german lines too. you could do a DNA test to know for sure , but if you just want a good dog for pet why bother.

i do think she is pure bred and maybe 10 months at most.

Looks pure bred & young adult between 10 months - 15 months. Her sable color may change if she is under a year, after she blows her puppy coat may get darker.
She'll look more like a German Shepherd once you put some meat on her bones.

Very sweet looking, especially in the eyes. Looks purebred. Glad you are giving her a good home!

Thank you everyone for sharing your knowledge & experience. I realize I'm not in the same "class" as almost all of you & I'll never be able to load a pedigree on here. I truly value your opinions & am grateful for your willingness to share. You are all champions in my book. Bless you all!

"Class" is subjective---depends on what you value. In my opinion, you have a lot of "class" for giving a home to a dog that desperately needs one. Ultimately, it's the individual dog that matters, not the pedigree.
