Hi ! ...... Thanks for all your suggestions ...... Rik , their was some infection internally ..... now fully healed. Most of it was external ..... still healing . Will have to wait for a week atleast for it to be fully ok :-)
As I mentioned earlier he comes from a champion blood line & both his parents are show champions ....... so even the breeder was surprised . There was no injury to the ears too .............. Maybe will give it a try once more when all is fine ...... lets see :-)

I have read several articles about the use of Tear Mender, a fabric glue, to help with soft ears. It is used to glue the ears together and supposedly this helps the ears stand. I have not used it for ears but the product stays supple on fabric. Perhaps fashioning a small splint with this glue and moleskin would work. I understand you wanting your beauty to meet all breed standards. If you can help without hurting, why not try?

Hi,
I have been taping my pups ears too:(  I haven't had an infection problem so far. I clean the ears gently every time I change the tape just with a Q-tip and if the ear looks red at all then I leave the tape off. I've been using perm rollers and I wrap them with new surgical tape each time I re-tape. Plus I make sure there the roller is up enough that the ears can breath.
hope this helps.

p.s. I have read that since erect ears are the  GSD's standard then if they stay flopped over they are more prone to ear infections later. I don't know if this is true but I once had a shepherd/lab cross with floppy ears and I had to clean them frequently.
