Thank you for the tips and the link!
It was that Taste of the Wild that one doesn't like.
Maybe I will try some Orijen or Evo.
Does anyone have any treat suggestions?
One for just the regular walking/training and one special special treat.
Also, toy recommendations for the girls?
Big daddy is taking us shopping today and I want to load up!
haha

Taste of the Wild comes in several varieties.. If you bought the fish (Pacific Stream), pups may not go for that.
You asked about table scraps... I wouldnt start of on that foot. (Not saying later in life you can't give your dog a nibble... or two... or three). But you will be creating a dog who only wants to wait for "something better"... and wont eat their dinner.
mfh27 said it perfectly... 15 min per setting, twice a day (maybe three while they are growing)... take it away - finished or not. They learn fast.

For treats, I use Pet Botanics food rolls (@ Petsmart) or Natural Balance food rolls (@ Petco). They come in up to 4lb rolls and I can cut them up into sizes that I want. They are good for training because they are soft. They are probably more of a mid level treat. But my food fiends try and eat my fingers to get to these treats, so they say it taste pretty darn good. The plus side in my mind is that I'm feeding my dogs regular food, and $/lb is great compared to buying just bags of treats. I'll buy other quality treats, like Zukes or Blue, to mix in to my food roll treats to add variety. Some use hotdogs, cheese, carrots. It comes down to what your dogs really like.

We feed TOTW mixed with Holistic Select Puppy (half and half), added to a 1/4 cup of FORCE mixed with 1/2 cup of water, pump of Salmon oil.
We only feed twice a day now but did feed 3x day until 6 months of age.

We ended up getting Orijen
Thank you everyone, lots to learn here.
I haven't had a pup for 15 years.

Orijen is a one of the best kibble, good choice. Did you get the Puppy formula?

I've tried them all on my 8 month old girl. I got her at 8 weeks and found that her stools were often quite soft, though in hind site, I may have been over feeding her, though she was never over weight, so I'm not sure. For firm stools lately (the last 1.5 months), Taste of the Wild (the bufflao and venison one) and Arcana (same company as Orijen but less protien, and also grain fee offerings). She'll eat anything. I switched foods cold turkey and she went at them like she was starved, never a problem. I'll likely stick with either Taste of the Wild, or Arcana, or mix it up now and again. I have tried a different brand of all the high end foods since I got her. When one runs out, I'd grab the next one (the 15 lb bags, or what ever size they are) and see how she took to it. She liked them all, but with some she had softer stools. I also give her a 1/2 lb elk patty (raw burgers made from organ meant, meat and ground bones) every other day.
