Also, have you ever noticed how an athlete looks different ten years down the road? They no longer spend countless hours in the gym. Same can be said for breeding. When one is trying to make a living at selling dogs, and your customers are mostly new to sport and the breed , in general, what do you think you're gonna sell them? Do you think it is going to be a highly defensive/reactive dog, or a dog that won't be returned in 6 months? Trust me. Everyone thinks they want a "real dog", but they don't really know what that entails. At least with a gun, you can holster it and nobody gets hurt. With a dog that will actually do damage, you have to have your head on a swivel. I know, training cures all, right? So if the dog is trained, he knows not to jump the fence and bite the jogger that's shadow boxing and yelling, "get some"? No. You have to have upgraded fencing that can't be jumped, be aware of your settings, your dogs reactions, etc, etc. It's a.pain in the ass. I'd rather have a happy-go-lucky doodle and a .40, and you know what I'd do with the .40, right?

Everyone thinks they want a "real dog", but they don't really know what that entails.

This is my biggest fear

well, I'm going to agree with Chaz when it comes to current Czech breedings....alot of West German mixing going on. Not saying it's a bad thing but, they must be realizing something!

this is my boy...he also has some WG mixed in on the bottom...my favorite dog I have ever seen or owned.

I like my all czech dog... with some German blood about 6 generations ago. there is not such a thing as pure this pure that.. but I preffer czech dogs however the mixes with west german dogs produced better sport dogs.

LSU mom, your dog Argo's sire line is all West German working lines & his dam line is a mix of WG & Czech lines.
Really like your dogs pedigree, a lot of my favorite dogs are in his pedigree. Good luck with him.

J Haynes of course I like Luc, he is a very nice dog with just as nice pedigree. But you already know that  ;)
Jyl  your girl has an very nice pedigree as well. I love Orry & Erri offspring.

I really like good working dogs with stable temperaments & nerves, no matter what lines they come from.
The best dogs I've seen lately have been Czech mixed with West German lines for sport, police & SAR.
I prefer majority of WG lines with a little Czech mixed in the pedigree.

I have and breed czech lines without bringing in the famous flavour of the day dogs , breeders who run to whatever male sells the puppies best are not contributing anything to the breed in my opinion
I wish there were some more highly defencive/reactive studs around to use

Duke there is plenty of them, but you have to know where to look.
