Smiley, sorry 4 ur predicament. I'm amazed that no one had mentioned "ivomec super"(ivomectin) used for internal/external parasites. To me, it works like wind across a plain. I also use another "dangerous" chemical that my dog's used to in mild sprays in her kennel(i won't mention that bcos it's too dangerous. I apply gradually n mildly over a period of time to get my dog used to it. I make sure i apply it myself). But as for ivomec, consult your vet for a shot once every months. I was nervous about ticks but now, i neither care or bothered bcos i rule over them with these two applications. Cheers.

Vectra 3D is a topical flea/tick we are currently using in NC with rather good results. No fleas or ticks on my dogs.

There is a new topical called Certifect with the same product in the Preventic collar(very toxic to cats_).  Also there is Neem Protect Spray.  I use it on myself and pets.

Thanks again everyone for the additional suggestions!!  I am going to try everything (except super toxic ones) to see what works for her! I will talk to vet about the ivermectin...I have never heard of that one but give it to my horses.  I will check into Zodiac, Vectra 3D, and Neem spray!  Woohoo! I am also trying the apple cider vinegar so, hopefully, one of these will work!!!!  Thanks again!

I use the preventic collar for Ryder and have not ever found one tick on him.  He runs around a lot and we live near a forest with many deer.  9 months old and never a tick seen.  I brush him and check him daily.  Not one, I swear.  Wouldn't use anything else.
