Alot of the dogs in her pedigree have schutzhund titles and many other things, so she is somthing, she doesnt just sit around, she does training every weekend, and were just waiting for a trial to get her titles. and in the beggining of the year next year were doing international shows.
I can't imagine many serious GSD people being interested in this breeding. You may find pet buyers that are interested and for that reason alone you may want to reconsider breeding these two dogs.
i did not see many shutzund title dogs in the pedigree but even then almost everyones dog here has shutzund title dogs in their pedigree , your dogs 1st 2nd and 3rd generation seem almost empty i just wanted to point that out. (aside from a few titles)
Yeah $300-$400 is about right on track.
Sire and his side look like pretty good genetics. As for the dam, there seems to be little on her side until a few generations back. Her side seems to be more of a companion dog side. I would definately title her first before any breeding, but I would also get hips and elbows checked, and make sure she fits the breed standard. I'm thinking 200-400 maybe. I can't see there being much of a GSD enthusist interest, but good dogs, sure. I'd still be worried about selling the pups and would make arrangements of possible homes before any breeding. Hope this helps!
It depends on your region, for example, in California I would price these puppies for $800-$1,000 with limited reg. where in other areas of the country far less. I would say $600 to $1,000, depending on how the puppies turn out, considering the mother is hip/elbow certified. Most of your customers will be pet homes, maybe a few that are interested in show/sport kinda stuff. Keep pet puppies on limited reg., screen your buyers very well, think long and hard about anyone you give full reg to, and start a waiting list as soon as possible.
In order to make that determination I would have to know a few things:
1) What are her Hip & Elbow Certification Ratings?
2) What are her parents Hip & Elbow Ratings?
I also require CERF Eye, OFA Heart, OFA DM & OFA Thyroid as part of my breeding requirements but I know others do just what I would consider bare minimum of Health Tests which is H & E.
3) I would need to know the bitch is titled and in what. If not yet titled, I would have to see her work and know she was going to be successful in obtaining that title.
4) Would want to know what titles her parents each obtained throughout their lives.
Then, I would need to have the pups on the ground to see if they are carriers of any faults.
To be honest, with the info provided, I would say in New England (not sure where you are), they would be $600 companion pups. But again, that is whith the info provided.
Why would you pair these two dogs together? If it was that easy to mate a working line & show line and then get pups that could work and show everyone would be doing it. Often times, you get dogs that can't work or show. Now if you're going into it with the intention of producing something good in 3-4 generations that's different, but the first cross is not likely to be successful. And the female appears to be a nice pet quality dog but nothing more. Whether she has titled ancestors 4 generations back is pretty irrelevant, the first 2-3 generations is what matters. I'm sure she's a wonderful pet and may be good with whatever her job is but I wouldn't breed her. And if you do, that's not the right cross. For the puppies - $300-$400 as pets, if you can find buyers. It's very unlikely that anyone would be interested in them for anything beyond pets.
in the southeast, you'd be hard pressed to get any more than 300-400,seems to be pet/companion quaility to me...hopefully,great companions to the new owners,as for me...a surefire deal breaker would be "lance of fran-jo" and any other of the traditional american lines...and the idea of breeding a "working, show dog",you'll rarely see that formula work.
Herluin, are you not just 16 years old, been training dogs for 3 years ( since 13 years old ) and offering your PP training to all??? Your advert for your training skills says you are training your female yourself in PP, is this not so??? Very young to be training other peoples dogs, no? Or starting to breed, no?
