Yeah my female does this to me when she wants to play fetch and I am "dragging my feet". Or she will do it to my beagle to get my beagle to "attack her" they play a game of it. I thought it was normal. She is touchy feely so it fit her personality. She has to touch you some kinda way.

We have a nose nudger. LOL What's worse is the nose nudger only does it
after she gets a little drink...... I think it's intentional ;)

Not Shepherds, but I have four nose nudging Huskies. My female, Sierra does it when you have treats typically. She'll nudge you and then give you that look like.....come on, I want one. The other Huskies nudge my hand whenever I get home from somewhere and they're happy to see me. They'll nudge it, lick your hand, and then look at you as they wag their tails.

The absolute worse time must be when you'r taking your 1st sip of a hot cup of Coffee, I know I've got one of those

Here 2 out of 4 do it. Yep I think right after they've had a drink it is intentional!!!! And when I'm taking a couch nap to stick that snout right in my face!!! I used to have a computer chair with no arms and I have been known to fall asleep and fall out of it and no I wasn't drunk. So Mauli got to where she would see me close my eyes and here she'd come. Now I have nice new chair with arms that is very comfy to sleep in but she doesn't get that I'm not going to fall out. Close eyes, nudge, nudge, nudge!!!!! Sister only does it when she wants attention--she's not real affectionate and petting her is almost exclusively on her terms. The herding instinct part as to why they do it is very interesting. Would like to research that farther.................

I didn't realise it was a herding thing. Maybe I was being a little dense then or niaive. Or maybe Jenzi thinks I'm a sheep?!

My dog is not a nose judger but she tried it. My trainer told me to nip it in a bud as it ‘disrespectful’ way of addressing an Alpha. He said that Alpha can 'nudge' any dog for any reason - nobody 'nudges' the Alpha.
However I have a problem with my long time friend’s dogs. Golden and Vistula – the biggest, the most obnoxious ”nose nudgers” ever. Forget about putting on nice cloths when going to their house for a party. If you want to have a drink or eat watch out for the dogs first. If you forget yourself in conversation and try to raise your hand with a filled glass – it’s guaranteed that one of those dogs will nudge you and spill the drink all over you. The same with food - countless forks fell on the floor thanks to them… The other annoying behavior is constant licking – you sit down and you have two dogs licking your pants, legs, shoes, etc. I like my friends but their dogs make me insane. I haven’t been to their house in a year because of this. And of course the owners don’t see anything wrong with the behaviors of their dogs and will attack you if you even make a face towards their dogs. They think I am strange, especially that I don’t allow my dogs to come into dining room during parties to annoy my guests. They think I’m too strict with my dogs…

Mine all do it to some degree, the 2 wl are the most persistant... the one time it bugs me is when I'm trying to type something on the computer and my hand/arm goes flying. The worse attention getter is the soggy ball or stuffed toy that Ike likes to drop in the water bowl, then rescue it and bring it to me either on the keyboard, or my lap where it sogs everything.

Senta isn't a nudger but she shoves her large, red squeaky ball in my butt and honks it furiously if she's feeling ignored or hard done by. I'm the only person that gets to receive this joyous act.
