Steve1 You don't know anything about me or my dog (s). I don't feel the need to explain anything to you and you can be assured I will never ask advice from you. I haven't had a dog, GSD or any other kind in 35 yrs. We always fed our dog a good dry food and maybe table scraps, now I find out that all the rules have changed. So I want to make sure I am doing right. You don't know the whole thing about my other dog. It wasn't that I couldn't handle him, I handled him fine. There were other circumstances I had to consider. Do me a favor and tend to your own business. You do no one any good when you do this way just because someone asks for advice. Why don't you just refrain from answering posts here and tend to your own animals, if you have any. I wonder if the other people here go along with you and your treatment of people? Just stay out of my business, you are not needed.

Then do not ask for advice if you are not up to criticism, this is the second dog you are having trouble with in two dogs, you simply do not Own ANY dog until you have done your homework on how to look after them correctly, that is what i am talking about, it is the dog that pays the price for your inadequate handling that is unfair.
if you only want or look good comments to make you feel better then do not ask questions which are basic things in owing a dog then you will not get your knickers in a twist, But my guess is that you are a large Lady nothing wrong in that if you are but your dog does not need to be the same as you, He needs to be lean and fit so if he does not eat then take it away, give him the same on the next meal if he picks about take it away, until he eats it then cut back a little so he looks for more after a time you can give him full ration ONLY' if he gets picky cut the ration back right away and keep it cut back he is telling you thats enough
But what are you doing you are feeding the dog which does not want to eat what you give it, THEN you are leaving dry kibble for it to eat as it wishes and when it wishes to, THAT is no way to feed dogs you do not have a clue. and until you learn then the dog is taking the brunt of your stupidity in the handling of the animal. i think you are better off keeping a rabbit for a pet they eat anything most of the day or night
As for me owning dogs just over 60 years of keeping them fit and well let your eyes go to the right of my post to see the dog in the avatar does she look under fed or not a fit dog or would you feed her up a bit, i bet you would if you had her i would give her or 6 weeks to 2 months to be a dog with problems and over weight to boot something i have had no trouble with for 60 years and so we should not feeding anything including ourselves is a basic thing and you would change that in a heart beat, No Lady give the Dog up to someone who really cares about a dogs health

One last thought for you, We EAT to LIVE, WE do not LIVE to EAT
You would do well to remember that fact
Everything you need to do for your dog to put it right is in this post take note or leave it thats up to you, but then some people HERE but they do not LISTEN
