You could say

"Take these two fingers and re-arrange them to form a well known phrase or saying"

I've honestly never  had anyone negatively comment on my dogs appearances,  I've  only received compliments.  I know I'm going to be unpopular for saying this, (won't be the first time!) but if someone is commenting about HD than to me that is a sign that the dogs are much to angulated.

"It's funny they are not my dogs but man my hackles go up.."

If it isn't your dog - it isn't your fight...........You don't know if they are HD or not..if they haven't been xrayed.......But if it is just a matter of an idiot opening his mouth - that annoys you.............if he says the tree's leaves are purple and you know they are green - is it really worth an argument with an idiot?

Just my opinion.

I know that both have excellent hips so that is not the issue it is the general comment from the public that all gsd have HD.  Anyhow I was trying to find a nice way to have a civil discussion with these random strangers who comment on non angulated german bred dogs...  I can see it if I was wandering about with a specialty american GSD but... Anyhow I guess the problem is mine and I will just keep on walking.

Had a guy walk up to me and tell me he hoped my dog was on Glucosamine because if she was not she was going to be dysplastic.

I was like, Huh?  I said to him, "show me the double blind repeatable study where glucosamine prevents HD and I will put my dog on it immediately."  He looked at me like I had two heads and he walked away.

I love xperts in the general populace.  I really do.  They are very amusing.

I've never had the HD question but almost every time I leave the house with Senta, a complete stranger helpfully points out that my female GSD is way too small/runty/their cousin's dog is way bigger than my dog/why didn't I buy a King Shepherd/etc. I've accepted that I'm a small, petty person since this really irritates me; I just keep walking now and don't say anything.

umm. can we see pics of your dogs that the self proclaimed experts were concerned about? Maybe they are just thin/narrow/smaller boned? so they think "weak" and thus "HD"??? maybe the legs are set out behind them... and thus any and all GSD like that must be HD?

Just like ... anything non-saddled dog must be a police dog.

All i know is the last 2 public comments I heard about my dog were "police dog" and "intense". and an expert said "real solid dog".

So I guess I did okay. LOL
