having some one easer to deal with makes the hole proses much smother.
Now in my English that would read "having someone easier to deal with makes the whole process much smoother".
Now let's speak intelligently, the ARF is Rick's own organization and the "Championship" was probably held on his front lawn. Having been on the same trial field and the same training field with the owner of Vulcain, I can personally tell you I have not met many people in my years of training/trialing that are more dishonest than he is.
Now, having said that, it doesn't matter in terms of what the dog brings to the table. Does the dog and has the dog produced the type of dog that the OP is trying to produce? We don't know because he hasn't responded as to whether (not weather) or not he is looking for KNPV, NVBK, SchH, FR, PSD, MWD, SAR, CLR or ACLU. That's the bottom line in looking for a stud male, has he produced a type that together with your female will improve the breed? Not just, it'll put money in the pocket of the stud owner.

Above is the dog that the OP is looking to breed. She is on the bigger side for a bitch. However like the OP said she is soft.
What do the above lines produce? I have seen strong dog out of this line that seem to work just fine. Would it be safe to linebreed her on Jason or outcross? I would hope that she would be getting breed to improve the breed but like the quote of the day "If you breed shit to your Gold you just get shit on your Gold"

Tom, I would highly recommend Vulcain and my experience as well as others' has been that Rick is stand up guy. You have to look at every breeding combination as 'complementary' as there is no 'perfect' dog...analyze your bitch's strong points, weak points, what you'd like to achieve with each breeding, what you want to strengthen and what you want to lessen, for what program, what type of dogs the stud has produced with which lines and go from there...It's not everything but it's a start. So lots of research and Rick is an encyclopedia of info as he has access to info firsthand.
And my best advice to you is sift through the crap that you find on the internet...As you haven't been all that long into Malis....you will run into gossip and judgments all the time lol....all over a simple question :( Sorry about that. Also you may want to check into ARF (American Ring Federation) in your state. http://www.facebook.com/pages/American-Ringsport-Federation/140412952662383?ref=ts# It's growing by leaps and bounds...
Good Luck!
