I don't see the problem with those that buy a titled dog and then breed them. They pay a pretty hefty price for a titled dog, however if you folks that title them do not want anyone else to piggy back off of your hard work, don't sell them, OR sell them neutered and be prepared to get piddle for them, but we all know that will never happen.

GSDNewbie, I love your beautiful words about this breed and I agree %100.. this is a great thread because some of us are naive about the ads and BS, being on this site and topics like this have opened my eyes to so much, it's almost embarrassing. Thanks, Jennifer

Bhaugh I absolutely agree with you. I have seen it time after time--they barely know how to spell shepherd, they get a titled dog and all of a sudden they are an expert. They get this titled dog, breed it--as you said claiming the best puppies in the world--and they wouldn't know a drivey puppy from a soft one if it bit them in the ass. Don't just show me a puppy out of 2 titled dogs--show me a breeding program and what you as a breeder have accomplished.
I just looked at an ad earlier where the person's dog was up for stud--not bred by them, BTW, had a long list of accomplishments. At least 4 of them were HIC by 4 different clubs but that was it. If he's been certified at one club and he has the instinct then he's going to continue to be certified. Show me the top Herding title in these clubs or better yet an HGH and then I might be impressed.Just my pet peeve for the day...........................

yep, didnt you all know buying a bitch in whelp also makes you an expert when advertising pups and talking to people?
