There are different methods, definately picking up the food after 10-15 minutes that lets them know "eat it  now or ur not getting it again til the next time"

Funny, I had that same issue with one of my dogs on dry food and it happend  to be Royal Canin.  I would sprinkle some freezed dried liver treats in the bowl of food, or you can even buy chicken livers and boil them a little bit cut em up mix them in with dry food. I also would mix in one raw egg in the food, thats just me personally you dont have to follow it, but it worked for me.

If none of that works, and the doggy loses interest in dry food no matter what you have tried : switch to raw. It can be a little more costly, but i tried it and my dogs are interested in it more than they ever were on dry food.

Good luck

My advice is not to be too rigid about forcing a pup or dog to accept a certain diet.

Sometimes a dog is just playing games with you; but sometimes the food is just not acceptable to the dog and it will never eat enough for best health.

Another angle is that a large breed pup is supposed to be somewhat thin, but how thin?

Do not take an idea to its extreme.

Some pups really will have to eat more, and food that it likes more, to be healthy.

We had one dog attacked by black hornets, as a result the did not eat well, as her face was swollen, and then she became uninterested in eating all together. My husband would hover over the dogs after putting down the dogs food, as he was worried about their eating. But I think his neurotic behavior made the dogs nervous and they stopped eating because of his sent. He put on all kinds of can food, and even steamed meats with no results. I feed Solid Gold, "Barking at the moon" so it is a good base diet. I had to put them to eating once a day, and picked up the food in 20 min eaten or not. I was the only one who was allowed to feed, and I would not allow my husband to be near the dogs. I preferred him not even to be home at feeding time. Three weeks later they were eating like champs. Now they eat morning and night, no more picky eaters.
