Bundishep, in answer to your post:
Sv Genetics CD is available quarterly from the SV and you will see it advertised in the monthly magazine if you are a member. It is in German but the information required is easy to read and the CD easy to navigate. It is from the information supplied that you can make your own judgment on those dogs who are producing good or bad hips and elbows , the hip results also detail, in percentage offspring results. These results show you the ZW for hips for all the dogs which are registered by the SV (as well as those born in other countries) as long as they are registered in Germany. To date there is no ZW for elbows. The CD also gives you the DNA status of each dog as well as the new information just recent introduced informing you if the dog is a long coat. This SV report allows you see those dogs which although they have F/N and N/Z elbows can consistently produce elbows that are normal. You must also understand that these results for all the dogs graded are only those that are submitted from the total numbers registered , which is why with the hips you need to look at the percentages used in the calculations against those of the total registrations for each individaul dog

Thanks Member, yes i know about the ZW rating for hips which i think is great idea, it is always a good idea when breeding to use dogs that have a low ZW number( the lower the better) and i hope the SV or OFA offer somekind of similar rating for elbows down the road. That is good also to know that dogs that are rated say fast normal for elbows can produce pups that are rated normal for elbows when they grow to be adult dogs.
