who's the show judge? And will he/she be fair to working lines?
by Sheesh on 09 March 2011 - 01:03
The judge is Mr. Herr Helmut Koenig. I hope he is fair to every participant. I honestly have no idea what he prefers or how he judges. I want to learn and have fun tho. :-)

Dog1 is not going this year. The show entries seem to be about average for a show. The trial is full. Mr. Konig usually draws a crowd, I think there was over 150 entries at one of previous Statesville events Mr. Konig judged. Food in the past has been free just leave a donation if you would like.Food in the past has been free just leave a donation if you would like. They always put on a great event and the Klausmeister still has the best website out there. The results from year to year are still posted on the website. It's really nice to go back in time and see your results over the years.
Most judges will give a working line a fair shake in the ring. Mr. Konig is one of the few SV judges that is a trial judge in addition to conformation judge and koermeister. If you're looking for a honest evaluation of your dog, who better than someone that is qualified to judge all 3 types of events. Working line dogs tend to get their best results when the owners show they have put some time and effort in preparing their working line dog. It shows well when the dog has a good performance and it's obvious the dog has some ring training. Do your working dog a favor and put some time into ring training and presentation.

Devnull, I showed my working line (and east german) bitch under Helmut in 2009. I did not feel unfairly treated, even though I placed at the end of the line in our class. It was raining cats and dogs, and the ring had to be moved into the parking lot because of standing water on the field. My bitche's breeder knows Helmut personally and highly recommended him.
@Theresa... Jenni is correct....both!! LOL He pulls like a draft horse and can be a handfull when he gets into his assholyness moods. I will see if I can get him in a show later this year. Where are you at?

Theresa.
May see you at the Universal Sieger Show,Conformation portion in May if you don't make it down to Atlanta. I am not sure if Waiko will show in May but there may be females needing to meet the judge before NASS.
We are working on a progeny group for Waiko and are very pleased and excited about puppies from him from a number of different females so if you know anyone wanting to own a Waiko puppy who will show at NASS just let us know.

Theresa, I am in North Carolina. Statesville is only an hour drive away. It is very convinient for me. Just this year I had to choose. I will check on end of May; the puppy I am keeping from my litter will be old enough to show in the puppy class and that is always fun.
