We hear these stories almost daily now - and yet we need in the UK the good and diverse bloodlines.   What about posts from people who have had very positive experiences and help when going abroad to mate their females - then we would all have a better idea of where to look for a positive outcome.   Mo.

Hmm.... SCANDAL....

It is my understanding that it is quite common for a popular stud to be "overbooked" and when attempting to use one, you should always one or two "back up" studs in the nearby vicinity. I've been told this by more than one person who sends their females to Germany for top breedings. It makes sense to me. Am I incorrect in this assumption?

It seems like the safe thing to do regardless of where a dog is or whether ot not he is previously engaged that day/week.

KCzaja - so is it quite common for you to book studs for a male which is not in your possession at the moment ? For a male which is on another continent ?

by Penny on 17 November 2010 - 08:11

KCzaja

I1m not sure the owner of the "back up" stud dog would be very pleased to be told that was how it was to be - second pick for the one you like, or even third pick in case second isnt playhing ball either - and if you didnt actually divulge that this was the way you were booking the 2nd or 3rd dog, you would be letting them down as badly as some people are letting down people with females.
I will start off the positive list.

Osterburger-Land kennels.    brilliant and very accommodating.   Mo.

Penny - you read my mind :-)))
That's exactly what I'm thinking about the "back up".
I used to mate my females with very top males in Germany (including VA1) and never had any "plan B".
It also doesn't make any sense for me - when I make my decision which male I would like to mate my female with it takes a lot of time. I check pedigrees, inbreeding, watch bitework, shows in Germany. I could not imagine to find just another male for mating in the neighborhood as a "back up".
Also, I expect from the male owner professional and respect treatment and I think the male owner deserves the same from me.

I just got my SV Zeitung nr 12 and according to it new owner of Toni is Josephine Kao. For sure she is not from China. Very interesting.

The "owners" mentioned in catalogues, mating reports, result lists, and even SV-Zeitung must NOT be the real owners! There are so many constructions (lies) around, people get confused!

But anyway:
Josephine Kao was involved in the scam, trying to put a simple small breeder off-side (and "steal" his dog!)
As was Judge Kartheiser. He filled his pockets big time also! (We will report about his makings.)
Lawyers are at work, and things will be sorted out in court.
Let history take its course!

(Yeah sister! I know Kao lives in Taiwan, does it matter?
Let's put it this way:
Toni went to the other side of the world, and whether he stays with Kao or any Chinese millionaire, you won't find him back will you, if you need to go and get him?!
The small breeder got scammed by the moneymakers : "Give us your dog or he will never mate again!"

Happy New Year!
We will continue to put an end to this Big Business.
Believe me, it will be a very good year, 2011!!

I always thought that Ms. Kao doesn't take her dogs (or co-own dogs) to her place. Living in Germany they make big money for her and co-owners (like Remo), so I didn't expect there is a reason to take them to Taiwan for exapmle. BTW she is very interesting person - always connected with best GSD on the sieger Show...
There is nothing I wish more than Toni back in Germany :-)

"some people are letting down people with females"  yes, how true Penny.
