Full marks to all those concerned for the 2010 Junior Rally. The Organisation as usual was well planned by Shirley Hutchinson and a big thank you to all those that helped with the training and instruction of all these youngsters. This year tracking was included for the first time .Other training included Handling for conformation,Agility, obedience and training on how to judge the German Shepherd. From talking to other trainers the standard was very high and follows on from the previous years . The improvement seen in those who came to the first rally and those who attend the Junior classes when held at our shows throughout the UK is now showing through. In my Handling class for the older group the standard was excellent and when attending shows should any one of these Juniors be available to handle I would give them a chance . I keep hearing of the lack of Handlers so hopefully if we use these very able enthusiast things could change. A big thankyou to all the parents and grandparents, without these dedicated supporters making sure the Juniors can get to the Rally and all the shows none of this would be possible.
We really enjoyed our day ,

No lack of enthusiasm, three years in to the rally now - and its still being enjoyed.   Shirley really puts her whole into this event, and I am so proud of her, as I (her mum) went off to Tenerife and didnt get back until the early hours it was really bad planning on my part - so I got there only to "cremate" sausages on the B B Q - and I am sure that all were pleased when the real "Barbequist" arrived.....     really enjoyed it Shirl, and sorry I wasnt much more help this year.,
Kids   - you did good, really good, and it was so nice to see the occasional ones off for a break and getting on so well, making friends with each other, and relaxing around a chocolate bar or two......   very refreshing and gives us all hope for our future with the GSD.    Mo.

John Ward and I are looking for other clubs or individuals who would be willing to run Junior Rally Days in other parts of the country - although we are in the Midlands, not everyone can get here so it would be great if we coudl get others off the ground.

I am very happy to offer suggestions and advice on how to go about it,. The GSD League are happy to support other rally days. PM or e-mail me if you would like more info...

I will be putting a write up in the Our Dogs Sieger Supplement and will be gathering the thank yous together in the next few days.

There were 17 taking part this year - only two absentees which is a much better ratio than most shows these days! The youngest was 6 and the oldest 25 (snook in for the last year).

There should be a report in the Our Dogs Sieger Supplement provided I get it finished in time.
