Looks like a 12-14 wk old Dutch Shepherd puppy with its ears back.
May or may not be a purebred dog, but is not a purebred GSD, do you have more photos?

We adopted him from shelter a few days ago. He is now quite happy and playful. Litter they received was in a sad shape. Told he is a 3 mo. old GSD mix. I'm hoping he will grow to look like a GSD, even if he is a mix. Thats what daughter wanted. Will try to upload more pics.

It has enough shepherd traits, but may well be a dutchie. The most important thing is that it was the one your daughter wanted. The rest is icing on the cake. That wide-eyed look makes me want to reach for some doggie treats...

Wow. Does he work? Looks like GSD/Dutchie mix to me. Either that or he is the elusive Brindle German Shepherd Dog.....real buttheads for tossing him in the shelter, poor little tyke, and good for you for bailing him out, no matter what he is.

Sadly we could only adopt one. There was a litter of 7 turned in by owner. All but two were bindle from head to toe and all very cute.

looks like a Dutchie to me, but probably is a mix. Whatever, he's cute and very interesting looking, you'll have a "one of a kind" dog that's for sure.
