My dogs going for xrays tomorrow, he has either possible partial discolation of his left hip or muscle and tendon damage due to trauma, symtoms intermitent lameness on rear left and one hip is slightly lower than the other, he his balanced until you get to the bottom of the croup near base of the tail, restriction on manipulation and will not put full weight on left side. Vet gave 24hr injection for pain then x-rays in morning, not sure why your vet would want to wait, mine only wasnt x-rayed today because of the lateness of his last feed yesterday.

Sorry I didn't get back to everyone sooner but things have been going crazy around here. I will be leaving at 5 AM Monday morning to bring Trigger in for x-rays. (The vet is a 3 hour drive from here.) Trigger has been doing better but still isn't right. I'm wondering if it could be his hips now as I did notice he does favor one of his back legs but it is very slight. Who knows. Hopefully there will be a few answers on Monday.
Wildmoor, how did things turn out fot your boy?

Hi triodegirl
Hips are fine no changes since he was x-rayed at 13mths (hes now 5 yrs), there is a slight bone density change in the pelvic region his plates and full clinical history has been sent off to an Orthopeadic specialist. Looks like the impact as caused a tilt in the pelvic region causing one hip to look lower than the other. I will know more hopefully when the report comes back, for now it is just medication and small lead walks only.
