If you are living or have visited with your  area between southern Cal and southern Texas  also consider valley fever. Coccidioidomycosis. Keep in mind that valley fever is easy to test for and can have any symptoms including your dogs symptomes.

Well my dear lady, I am no expert but when I look at my two dogs I always wish that they could tell me what the problem is. Please look at your dog as if it was human, now I know that I now sound like a complete idiot. But, do dogs not develop many of the same ailments as humans? Perhaps it is nothing more than a trapped nerve which is almost impossible to detect?

If only they could speak!

Just a note.. temp can be elevated due to excitement, temp can be elevated due to pain/inflammation it doesnt always mean that there is a systemic infection (and a CBC could rule that out).  Degenerative Myelophathy would be something I would look into. 

Lyme disease would be high on my list too if you are in the right area (dont know where you live).  Lyme causes fever and lameness/arthritis (as well can some other tick borne diseases), it can also cause neurologic dysfunction and attack major organs (but the first several symptoms are the most common).  A 4DX test can be performed in 8 minutes at your vets and usually runs around $60.
