Lief

by Lief on 23 March 2010 - 20:03

its is very disheartening to see someone with a guarentee against  ''dysphasia'' It always seems to be more lack of knowledge than it does a spelling error.. I would think someone with Huskies would do OFA and CERF and boldly state that

"world class German Shephard".... no thanks I will take a well bred German Shepherd dog. I do not need a world class title to it since no such thing exists and I really want a SHEPHERD dog.. not a sheppard, shephered or shipper as I saw it in few places.

Talk about love? I talk about respect to the breed to actually know what they breed... sheppard and other things are not Germen Shepherds to me.. World class is not going to change the massacred breed name.. Sorry.. but learn how to spell out of respect to the people the dogs will serve the purpose for...

Pack.

Geez enough!

OP.. go and buy what you feel is good, right for you and will meet your needs People like those dogs..to me they are overpriced I can get a V rated ShH1, HD checked Stud dog for 7 grand...

he can produce my own world class german sheperades.....

I pushed the spell check button and it did not fix the mistakes, talking about Irony.LOL

What's with all these first time posters?  that still can't spell Shepherd.
Makes me wonder if it's all the same person...

I guess you can lambaste me too, as I'd never buy a pup from someone that didn't care enough, or know enough about the breed to spell it's name properly.  If they can't spell it, how would they even know what they are breeding?

by ScarlettTara on 24 March 2010 - 02:03

Hey, guess what....learn something everday, I am 52 yrs old and have loved dogs my whole life and didn't know it was SHEPHERD! Now does that make me dumb, I'm obviously not the only one! I do have 4 wonderful dogs I aquired from  Cherokee Rose Ranch! They are great and the kennel is clean & happy and helps many!  I don't know of anyone who puts more love and effort into their dogs.....to bash someone of CRCR caliber (may not spell right) is beyond me.   I guess I lost the spelling bee! I am on here because someone was goofy enough to tear apart another breeder because she doesn't have enough to do. I know the folks at CRCR were busy caring for their own dogs and helping an elderly couple w/ their dogs....what did you do for others today?  They do above and beyond what most would do to make their place a special one....please check it out for yourself. I live about 40 min from them and always love to visit. GoodNight

Lief

by Lief on 24 March 2010 - 10:03

maybe its just me but I do base my opinion of breeders in their knowledge of the breed and the genetic clearences they reccomend for that breed, people who truly ''love'' their dogs get them checked I don't see where this CRR does this??  Love is a very subjective term someone telling me they ''love'' the dogs has little effect ,actions speak louder than words

by ScarlettTara on 24 March 2010 - 12:03

Dear Lief, Loving dogs is very important as is their care and NO ONE gives BETTER care than the folks at Cherokee Rose Ranch! They've been highly complemented by the Agriculture Dept, The AKC and any vet that has been to the place....I am glad you care well for your dogs too!   THANKS Beatiefke You are right we are funny  as is this whole conversation!!!! LUV, Anna P. S. I am very busy too but I feel compelled to defend the HONOR of Cherokee Rose!

Lief

by Lief on 24 March 2010 - 13:03

are they highly complimented by OFA and Cerf though???

Liesjers

by Liesjers on 24 March 2010 - 16:03

To be honest, I generally avoid breeders who are checked by the AKC and/or agricultural dept.  Generally such checks are only necessary because the breeder/kennel produces over a certain amount of dogs/litters per year, and I'm most likely to support the "hobbyist" type breeder that has maybe half a dozen dogs and produces one or a few litters a year.  Nothing wrong with people "loving" their dogs but that's not really what I'm looking for, I want people that not only love their dogs but know them.  I brush my teeth every day but that doesn't make me a dentist...

I do know of people with Fleischereim dogs that are quite happy with their dogs and their dealings with Team Fleischereim.  Not really my type of kennel - large scale, commercial operation - but if you like their "type" of dog they do have some top west German show lines and seem to also produce a fair amount of successful dogs or healthy pets.
