Turk,

I would not worry about size.  I am always worried about temperment, drive , stability, and courage.
My female gsd is 73 pounds at 3 years old.  Many who do not know about the breed say she looks a little small.

I am not sure why thet think she is small, to me she is the perfect weight.

Do you want a really big dog?

If you work her what is she in training for?

Jenni,

By the way...

You have a very cool looking dog in the picture.

What is his weight?

LOL.... troublelinx.... you are in trouble!  The dog in Jen's avatar is Capri, one of her girls! Capri's son weighed in at 62lbs last week and is about 25 inches tall at 7.5 months old. He bypassed all my other sheps in size and looks much more than 62lbs.

LOL- Elkoorr, we get that all the time! Even when she was at the vet PREGNANT, they asked what HIS name was, LOL.

Apache is 25" tall?! I'm kind of surprised he's already that tall. He's got such great proportion I guess I didn't figure he'd be that tall yet. Strider is 70lbs... Weirdly, the 2 black pups had a different build- stockier.  Though Randy admitted he allows them to be a bit heavier in the winter in his extreme climate, so I guess they're only a couple pounds different if they were in identical condition. I've seen how lean Apache is. He looks great!

Oops. We should move these posts to the A litter vom Eisenherz thread. I feel bad for hijacking.

I'd say she has some growing yet to do just judging by those ears!  Keep the weight off of her.  She's a beaut!  I'm with Adi, maybe about 85 lbs when done and kept lean.

jenni - I mean protein.

trouble - i didnt' want a big dog, within standard.  she's in obedience right now, there's a protection component to it that she'll be going thru soon.  Her sire and dam and both highly accomplised but I will just keep her for basic home protection/companion.

thanks to everyone who posted.
