This is a eye catcher for me.

This is Bacchus vom merlin, the dog that made me love the GSD and openened my eye on the beauty of this breed.

To resize a picture already posted: select 'edit post', then right click on the picture and select 'Properties'. The screen that pops up will show you the width and height of the picture, and you can then resize it by entering '400' in the width box.

ALSO, WHEN POSTING MORE THAN ONE PICTURE, PLEASE HIT 'ENTER" BETWEEN PICTURES!!  OTHERWISE THEY WILL ALL BE ON THE SAME LINE AND STRETCH THE PAGE SIDEWAYS!!


To post a picture from your own computer:

1) Click on the sun and mountain icon on the edit taskbar
2) Select 'UPLOAD' , then 'Browse'. Find the picture you want in your picture files, click on it, then click 'SEND IT TO THE SERVER'.   NOTE: Pictures larger than 500 kb. take FOREVER to upload. It would be wise to resize them first, using whatever photo editing program you have on your computer.
3) Once the picture has finished loading, waith for the editing screen to show you the size. If it is too large, resize it to around 400 pixels before posting.

PLEASE REMEMBER THE EDITING SCREEN ON THIS WEBSITE IS WHAT COMPUTER GEEKS CALL "WISYWIG" - What YOU See is What You Get!. If you don't see your photo in all its glory in the editing screen BEFORE you post, you won't see it AFTER you post, either!

To post a picture from a website:

There are several ways to do this. You can upload your photo to a photo program such as Photobucket or Picasa, then select the photo's direct link URL, which will look like this: http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a344/Sunsilver/IMG_1778.jpg. DO NOT select the [IMG] code, as it doesn't work on this website, and don't select the URL at the top of the page of your photo account, unless you want us to be able to see all of your pictures. You will, of course, have to select the 'make my account public' option in order to allow us to see the photo.

To post a photo that is already on the database, or on another website, you will need NOT the page address, which ends in HTML, but the photo's .jpg information. You can get this by right-clicking on the photo, and selecting 'properties' , then copying and pasting the address that shows up in the grey box. Paste this into the 'Image URL' box at the top of the screen which first pops up when you click the mountain and sun icon.

Wolf definitely caught my eye.  Love his body and that face...  Nan

My Wolf daughter Nikka might just produce my own "Wolf" this week.  Rockin Nakita Von Haus Cimmerian (Iltis vd Wildsau "Wolf" X Gibbet) Large boned, dark sable female with super strong nerves and working drive is due to whelp in a couple days.  Nikka is bred to my super working K-9 bred and trained male Boi Von Himmel Kamm.  The litter will only have one linebreeding 3-3 on Nero.

Boi Von Himmel Kamm and his 14 1/2 week old male son Bube, dark sable large boned puppy out of Nadia (Iltis great granddaughter, Czech and linebred on Stormfront's Brawnson dark sable female).

Boi was teaching Bube not to try to take his yummy raw beef bone.  Boi is homozygous and sires all large boned, sable colored puppies (even got dark sables out of an all black female).  Bube is just darker sable like his mom.  Bube weighed 34.6 lbs this week at his Vet check.  He is growing so fast now, I have upped his daily vitamins and cottage cheese and am still helping out his ears that are constantly going up and down during this rapid growth spurt.
Bube and his whole litter all have a little bit of "Wolf" ring around their eyes.

Your thoughts on this male - one photo at 7 weeks in the Snow November 2008 and one at 9 months June 2009.  He is now aged 15 months.  Showline UK Male of course.

One interesting thing is that "Dogs who catch your eye" aren't always the best of the bunch.  I went down to Ken Rayner's with a friend and her littermates @ 5 months taking my pup from that same litter.  We ran the 3 together for a long time gaiting, and chose which pup was the best of the three for her to keep... that was Glenhart Gypsy of Misty Meadows... The 2nd sister Gunda was nice, but long in loin, which weakened in time.  My pup, Glenhart Gemini of Misty Meadows was not the best conformation, nor evenn the best mover, but Ken's comment was that there was something about the way she carried herself that kept bringing your eye back to her  For me the #1 eye catcher tends to be head and expression.  The other things factor in as the dog is moved or worked, but that first impression lingers.  I ended up evenually owning both Gemini and Gypsy some 30 years ago... LOL
