hello dawn, its carole again.please to hear that shes keeping everything down.is Lexie on a powder enzyme?and has she gained weight since the diagnosis or has she stayrd the same or lost weight.Gunnar ,my male, never put any weight on after his EPI was diagnosed.he was a substantial, well coated upper medium sized animal and at the end he only weighed 18 kilos.i just couldnt get any weight on him.some days he would eat and then he would refuse everything except chicken wings, but then he kept bringing them up.the vet was at a loss, then i found a food that he would eat and he put a tiny bit on and then he started to go downhill and we decided to put him to sleep.if you need anymore support i do know of someone who had a gsd woith EPI and she got him back to normal but i think she fed her male fresh pigs pancreas.

Noddi,
She has been on the powder enzyme from the beginning. (When diagnosed.) She gained maybe 5 pounds, but no more. Lexie has always been a thin dog. Could never keep weight on her.
She loves her food! When I put the timer on and she is waiting, she does her little whistle cry as if to say 'HURRY UP"!

Hard to find pig pancreas here in Chicago!

hiya Dawn.would say its pretty hard here in the uk to get fresh pigs pancreas now with all these new regulations with abbatoirs.its seems you have the same problems with the weight maintenance like me.gunner used to sniff the food and then walk away without eating.so frustating and then you start getting angry with them for not eating.anyway how is she today and has she come home?speak to you soon.off to bed now.its after 10pm here in the uk.night.

check your local Asian meat market, look Pork Pancreas  near Pork Liver, if you don't see it, ask - but do not tell them that you're feeding it to your dog...... You may have to order it....

Sorry to hear Lexie is having a tough go of it.  She is in our hearts and prayers.  Good luck.

Only good thoughts and positive thoughts and prayers' to you both.  It is hell when they get older particularly with those issures.  I did not know they could acquire EPI later in life.  What a disappointment.   Nanci
