Phil,
The best way to find out about Schutzhund is find your local club and contact them. Go visit them while they are training and see what you think. That's how we got involved. I was hooked the first visit. Whatever you decide to do with him, enjoy him. Poor little guy! So young to have to have stiches in his tongue. I bet he doesn't do that again, whatever it was he did.
