KCazja, I thought that was odd also. I watched Jami's parents for two years trial and how they acted off the field. When the time came to breed, I did put a deposit down. The breeder knew what I was looking for and she had three pups in the litter that I was able to choose from at ( I think they were 6 or 7 weeks old). Before I chose the breeder sent many films of the litter so I had an idea from week to week to observe. I knew that when I picked my pup it was the one I wanted and believe it or not the pup picked me also.
Always,
Cee

I would have some concerns about your friend being inexperianced and picking his own puppy. I also would be concerened about the breeder allowing inexperiance to pick a pup. I do not know your friend, but just on the surface this is a receipe for the dog to be going to a shelter.
As VomMarischal pointed out, temperment is the number one to be concerened with, then health.
You are not going to see the temperment of the puppy at this age. I would find someone you trust and knows this breed and pay them to pick the pup, the few dollars this will cost you could save your friend a life time of dissapointment.

Hello,
Ok, I convinced my friend not to buy any at this time and at least wait till they are 6 weeks old, and then breeder should help him choose.
Thanks a lot

I would use this time wisley and begin to research what he wants in a dog, then I would research the type of pup he should pick. If that type is not availbale in the litter, I would pass, deposit or no deposit return. I am going to live with this dog for a very long time and I want the best shot at success.
There is alot of experaince on this board, tell them what your ultimate goal is for the pup, and they might be able to point you to some very helpful information.
To begin with, have you made sure Sire and Dam are hip scored. If not I would move on.
If you give the sire and the dam's name there are those here that can maybe shed some light on the temperment of the parents and what those lines produce. If the breeder gets upset becuase you feel you need to learn and have more information, move on. There are breeders on this board that can help you, just check them out before you part with you money. I am not a breeder and I have no pups to sell you, but being armed with information/education is a good thing.

I would suggest that where possible your friend go and see the litter.
So much can happen in 8 weeks puppies do change a lot.
Especially if your friend and his sister are looking for a nice companion or a working dog. Lots of difference.
They can also see how the puppies have been reared etc.
They all look nice at that age.

My friend is in Jordan, the breeder is in Czech. Even if he goes there he does not know which to choose. He wants a beautiful and active dog of good health, friendly but yet protects his territory. My friend is very active himself, fishing, hunting, hiking, camping etc.

I think I have to high light this:
I read all the e mails between my friend and the breeder, the breeder is good, straightforward and honest, she wants to sell her puppies, she has inquiries from others and already has deposits for two puppies, she thinks soon she will have deposits for all the puppies. She told my friend to pay deposit for one or two puppies as he wishes. He is afraid others may choose the best puppies before him, so he wanted her to choose for him, she refused saying she can not choose for him at this age. He only tells her (I want dark color, strong, active and the best). I think she could not satisfy his wishes, so she told him to seek others help and sent him many pictures.
