Then the simple answer is....don't breed to him :D

by hamza166 on 25 July 2009 - 19:07
Thats right jaymesie51.
Thats also true Xeph, we shouldnt breed him, but the problem is the kennel club encourages people with dogs like that to breed, with no neccesary tests, and also makes them win shows.
Xeph, if i think that your dog might have bad hips, just send a picture on this board and i will say my opinion. if it is wrong you can send a message saying what the actual hip score is.

Its amazing how different stance techniques can make dogs look so much different in type.

Indeed svbc1 :) My bitch is actually quite moderate, and I'm working on getting new video of her free gaiting and walking in the yard ^_^

Hamza166,
Can you clarify your statement,
" He walks in an absolutely disgraceful way, which is spread out, and small steps are taken, probably aching his back. If he was ever stood, he would slurch, and everytime the handler or judge touched his back, he would litteraly slouch down, and lick his back".
Like you with the Alsatian I have seen this ch in movement, and in my opinion it leaves a lot to be desired.
As with many of todays show lines his stance photos are nice, but after seeing him in the flesh I was disappointed.

I've experienced dogs like that myself Csense. I went to my first GSD National (American) in 2006, and many of my favorites (standing) were there.
I saw them in motion and was SO disappointed....

Xeph, i think that your dogs hips are alright, but could be better.
Csense, i agree, that dog is such a disapointment, can you believe, he actually even qualified for crufts 2007?
