I agree with GSDAmin I think, it is a camera feature. My Nikon D5100 has that awesome feature. It is all with setting the focus locator.  I love it for certain pics.  However there is an editing program that does the same thing, almost as natural the camera.  I don't remember which one it is. I have several editing programs. If anyone is interested PM me. When I get back back from work I will check and let you know.. I do believe that Professor Franklin is one that has that editing tool.  There are others, but just can't recall which ones this early in the morning.

Another thing you can do is take a picture of the area where the dog/handler was. This way, you have a clear shot with nobody in the BG. Then, take a pic of the dog/hanlder. You can use Paint.net to layer the photo, add the dog/handler photo over the clear shot and erase the handler. I do this on mine, sometimes. I don't have a before photo, but I was in the background on this one and took myself out. My hands where everywhere, I had flip flops, I was bending over ... not a pretty sight.
