Can someone define a true classic Bi-color,there seems to be sometimes a grey area between a very dark black and tan,I think of it as completely black but with tan feet, but maybe i,m not correct.

Oh no, this again????

Search any of the tens of thousands or maybe millions of threads defining bicolors, as well as the classic "is my dog a bicolor" threads.

a very good thread with lots of pictures of gorgeous bicolor dogs, to clearly illustrate the "true bicolor" dog from a "dark black/tan" - note the clear black toemarks (black on the toes), tarheels (black behind the wrists and lower hind legs), lack of tan "shading" on and around the ears and face/eyes, belly... Bicolors are my favorite color, I find them very striking.  I have several dark black/tans that are "almost" bicolor and also "true" bicolor dogs if anyone cares to compare - but easiest to just look at the pictures already posted to see for themselves.

ps all of the dogs pictured are "true" bicolor except for Sif vom Norden Haus who is not.
