Slamdunc

by Slamdunc on 04 June 2011 - 17:06

I agree we are only getting one side of the story.  Perhaps Hodie should have posted under multiple names like the other mods do.  She can post under her usual name, get into arguments then come back on as a mod and get the last word.  Or is that what happened / happens?  I do not see any reason why Hodie would come back and write articles.

What Ninja clearly means is that Hodie is unable to address this issue, or present her side of what happened on this forum. The de facto offer to discuss it privately via pms with some people would be "under cover of darkness," as opposed to out on the forum for all to see. I understand the reasons for maintaining anonymity for the mod. However, it can engender precisely the situation Slamdunc describes, depending on the inclination of an individual mod. Hopefully, that has not actually been happening.

Hm.

Hodie had more knowledge than anyone else here about health issues. Sure her tone could be acerbic at times but she was willing to share what she knew and tried to help. Hodie was a much more valuable member here than Nona or Maggie ever was or would have been.

All those mod comments from the prior threads sound like a frustrated mod that was trying to do their best at a very crappy job and getting little to no thanks, support or appreciation for it from any side especially the members. All the mods then probably felt that way at some point when the changes were being made.

Reasons for Hodie quitting or being banned (BOTH actually if anyone wants the truth of it) notwithstanding.

GSD mod, you say that Hodie is welcome back here but she has to contact you first and talk to you before she's allowed. That right there tells me she IS banned and is only allowed back under certain conditions that you set for her. You've taken her mod powers so why not UNBAN her so she can come back if she chooses to as a regular member? She never spewed all the racist, hate filled, vile garbage all over this board like so many others did that were allowed to stay far longer. She didn't disrupt the board with hijacking every thread, attacking and insulting people just to do it. Hodie didn't TRY to run any of the members off here just because she didn't like them. So what was Hodie guilty of besides being a bad mod? Considering the fact that Hodie has been one of the longest and more contributing members here, I can't blame her for refusing to come back. I wouldn't either if I had to beg permission and meet conditions like a child being punished.

Hodie quit coming here and has no real desire to come back, and she did tell me so. She told me she was tired of beating her head against a wall over all the bad and sometimes dangerous health advice being given out here. Frustration over Janice Bartmess. Other things I won't speak about that have nothing to do with the forum. She said NOTHING to me about you, Oli, mods or anything else along those lines as a reason why she doesn't come back. If Hodie chooses not to come back here, that's her decision and I think it should be respected.

GSD Mod Stated:

Wait one second, "all responses have to be made under the cover of darkness." isn't this exactly the situation going on at the present, you pming members running your mouth about things you do not know the whole truth about and hasn't it been what you and Hodie have been doing in emails in the cover of darkness and it is very unfair to regurgitate only one side of the story as there are other things that happened that you have no clue about.

Well unless I missed something in the past I thought YOU previously stated that the MODS have no access to PMs.

So how in the world would you know who on this board is PMing who? I think all members would be interested in a RATIONAL EXPLANATION on PMs.

Although I did receive a PM from a NEW poster (2 days and gone) who stated he was scared stiff to post because of SP.

One last thing, Hodie is welcome back, but she has went around and told everyone that she does not want to come back. How is this my doing? I am being straight as I have no reason to be otherwise. I went as far as suggesting to Oli that if Hodie ever came back, we ask her if she would write some articles on health issues and other matters. That offer also is on the table, but she needs to contact me and we need to talk out some things like adults.

You claim she quit? Well if she can't post or PM, that sounds like she is banned? I don't understand what you are saying.

By the way I never stated that she wanted to come back. I only stated that she said she was STOPPED from posting. Well if indeed she can't post or PM it sure appears I'm right.

Mods DO have access to PMs. Anybody remember me being told a week or two ago that they read my PMs and found that I was "stirring shit"? That I was trying to take members from here? OH YES THEY DO READ PMS.

Not true, I do not have access to anyone's private message contents.

Then why did the other mod tell me he did?

zmoderator

by zmoderator on 04 June 2011 - 19:06

I don't know why they said that, but I can tell you that I do NOT have access to anyone's PMs other than the PMs that are sent to me directly, and PMs that are sent by members to other mods and are then sometimes shared between the mods, for administrative reasons.

OK, so I guess different mods have different powers? Or maybe some mods don't tell the truth. Whatever. I can understand that.
