Good looking boy! Have no idea why the dogs love such large items. My Reiker use to play with basketballs, yeah popping the soccer balls as soon as they get em.

Ruger 1, i'll have to run to TSC also.

I'm sure you all know this, but don't get the hard plastic ones. The dogs scratch em up with their teeth and after pushing em around for a while they'll make the dogs nose bloody and raw. I gave a male a 15 lb bowling ball once just to see his reaction. I had to immediately take it away. He loved it, but I thought he was gonna break a tooth.

I have to 2nd the suggestion of the jolly ball.  Echo is on her 3rd one.  She loves it.  I can't leave her alone with it because she will gnaw it to pieces but she begs for me to bring it out and throw it for her.  I left the handle on hers because she won't pick it up by the handle.  She likes to take it in her jaws and run helter skelter around the yard.  It's not a hard plastic like what Don is talking about.  It gives easily enough and with enough bite marks it gets real flexible.  Buy several of them.  She's had large and small and seems to prefer the smaller or medium balls.  You won't be sorry...unless you leave him unsupervised with it and then he will have it in pieces.

Sorry to go off topic, but I wanted to clarify something on the Jolly Ball...Mine was intended for horses. It is about the size of a basketball...My moms Masiti/Dane can not destroy it and that says a lot...It is somewhat collapsible and can be punctured by the teeth, but does not deflate....I bring this up because I saw some Jolly Balls at Pet Co that where a hard material and smaller. They were much different then what I am talking about.....Now back to Axel......

Stopped at TSC today and got a Jolly Ball...don't know that it's the size of a basketball...slightly smaller, like a soccer ball...but either way, the dog freakin' loves it!  Guess this means I'll need to take more pictures this weekend!
