I've been using it for years at the rate of 1cc per
110lbs. No adverse affects. I give it orally but any
way the dog gets it, it does the job.

The dose used in "heartguard" is translated into 0.06 ml/10 kg of body weight - orally - of Ivermectin 1% solution for cattle.
So I give 0.18 cc to a 30 kg (66 lb) dog. This is exactly same dose as they would get from "heartguard".
For a 75 lb dog it would be 0.06 x 75 / 2.2 / 10 = 0.2 cc.
You don't need to give any more than that to control heartworm. Repeated excessive doses are linked to liver damage and infertility problems.

Where did you get the infor about the liver damage and
infertility problems?

Found it on-line in some research results of the toxicity of Ivermectin. I didn't save the page, but if I come across it again, I will post it here.

I have 3 dogs and I use the horse wormer paste also. I have used it for years and I am pleased with it. A Belgian Sheepdog breeder and judge taught me about it. I like it because I feel it is more economical than the cattle liquid Ivomec.
