The Longmont Humane Society north of Denver has contacted me about an 8 year old female who has been surrendered by her previous owner who could not keep the dog (had the dog all these years and is in a living situation where the dog was not allowed). I cannot accept this dog into my program because I am not meeting expenses. With older dogs like this, adoption options become scarce. But if there is anyone out there looking for an older female, contact information is below:

One thing that always makes me wonder though....most people are willing to pay $500 plus for a dog yet balk at the adoption fees that some breed rescues may charge.
Yes, I know, the background, breeding etc....still, a good rescue knows their dogs and can find the perfect dog fully vetted.

Also, around here, no shelter lets the dogs go without spay or neuter already done. Even with that, the normal shelter fees run around $50-$100.
