Found the person who thinks the dog is a mutt,

KAREN "DOC" HALLIGAN, DVM

dochalligan@dochalligan.com

This is on her website : http://www.dochalligan.com/index.shtml

IT's not just her, its the users too.

windwalker, everyone around here would think your "Ike" is a Shepherd/Lab mix. Because there aren't black Shepherds, they're either Shepherd/Lab mix, or they're some sort of wolf/Shepherd mix.  And if they're a dark sable they're part coyote or part wolf.  Once I even got Shepherd/Lab mix on a dark sable because the dog was too small to be a purebred Shepherd. It was a 70 something lb female.  I was looking to find an email or something to contact on that animal planet site as well.

One ole man (who ran a GSD  puppy mill back in the early 70's) explained that the black ones are Belgium Shepdogs, the Long Haired ones are Teruvians and the white ones are part wolves... not sure what the sable ones were... don't think he'd ever seen one... LOL

I wonder who submitted that photo to them? It makes me think of that missing police L8 from MI named Bane. I wonder if the person who submitted it owns him or if he was found. Clearly a sable GSD.
