But just as it is written, “Things that no eye has seen, or ear heard, or mind imagined, 1 are the things God has prepared for those who love him.” First Corinthians  two. nine   so  take comfort that your cherished friend is surely awaiting the day  that you will be reunited!

Sending comfort and healing your way. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

Hello Marinemom,  So very sorry to hear of your sadness in losing Laos.  Lovely photographs of your much loved boy.

(I lost my girl in late Summer, she too was just 9 years old.  I miss her greatly).

Do you know sometimes when I am out walking the other Shepherds (and not in their ear-shot), I quietly call her name, sometimes using the little nick-name that we had together.  I feel I do this because I want to hear her name aloud, not by means of talking about her, but as in the regular interaction that we would share together.  It is somehow comforting (and sad) when I quietly call to her in name.

Please see this attached poem, which I thought was very beautiful.

With Love
Vixen

PARTINGS AND GREETINGS

When on the eyes of dearest friends, the marble touch of death descends,

We see them in their last repose,

But when to us those eyelids close – they open somewhere to the light – the glory out beyond the night….

They wake where life’s dark journey ends – to other joys and past good friends – who stand before their opening eyes – while we are saying our goodbyes......

Vixen, that is beautiful.

Several on here feel the pain along with mindhunt and Marinemom.  We lost our beloved Airin two years ago and I miss her still.

Hugs all around.

I am also so sorry to here about Laos, keep the memories close to your heart. I have a garden over Astra, she cared and helped me beyound words. I do feel her still helping me and walking aside Jami.
Always,
cee

Vixen, That poem truly touches a soft spot for me. I lost my friend, Frisco, two years ago this month. Like you, I find myself whispering his name at times. Malshep, we have a pet cemetery, but never thought about planting a garden there. What a great idea to enjoy the memory.....
