 Faq2 and Phil
how hard it is to read and understand a simple question. I was not asking for other characteristics but precisely height and substance.....

I've noticed over the years that many of Wallace aus Agrigento's progeny are oversized. There are many more but his name stands out among the many sires I've studied.

the puppy in the picture to the right would have been in the 3 to 6 month puppy class had their been a show when the picture was taken a couple of weeks ago.

PS.  He is so cool my wife can not help herself with the scarfs.  26 years and many dogs, yet I finally get a male who is turning out like I have wanted for a long long time, and BAM, one day he is a crip and the next a blood...

They have lowered the standard to 64 so who wants over-sized dogs?  Lida

Ron, knew a Wallace grson, and agree, huge dog, and poor pigment with light eyes on this one faded, saddle ect.  terrible feet.  but that was this individual dog,

I have looked long and hard at some Wallace daughters though.

Bill Fleischer had a male named Mambo, he was producing some dogs of big proportions.

personally, I would breed to a correct male, not one over done on the bone with a huge blocky head.  can't take a bitch with frail frame and expect a dog who is oversized, or just massive to correct that.

Lida, don't be mad but..
my first actual nice (titled, koered, conformation ratings, ect) litter was sired by a Triumph's Gucci son.  this was 7-8 years ago.  he was V SCH3 IPO3 kkl1 by 28 months old and was a beautiful incredible dog (also one of the reddest I have seen), but I swear he had to be at least 28 inches at the withers.  my female was a large 90 lb bitch and he dwarfed her in both height and weight.

I sold all the pups, but received a grson of the breeding back later on and by 12 months old, he was 30 inches at the wither, and a very lean 115 lbs.

will still take a Gucci pup anyday though!

my gucci son got confused with my females when playing, one showed at 48 lbs one 54 and one 57.  He was 70lbs but the head and height kept it hard to figure who was the boy and girls.

However, he had no problem doing his work.

When I first had Gucci,  we were at a show in NC and someone brought this really huge male for me to look at,  He was from the Bad Boll kennel in Germany,  and a  Gucci son.  I personally have never had an oversize
dog from Gucci,  But He was right at standard..Guess it just depends who he is bred to..  Thanks,  Lida

Lida,  Youre exactly right.    My male just took way too much after the mom, coat and all.  It is what it is, he did have the DNA!!  Great personality, very good dog.

GSD is medium sized dog. If kept that way he is usually healthier, has better hips and lives longer.
Please keep it in mind.
