Very good point.
But! I think a generation must pass before people accept East and West as one. It is still common to speak of Eastern and Western Germany.
Today there remains many differences between the former East Germany and West Germany. The same with the German Shepherd, although both are in the same country but by blood there is still a major difference between West and former East.

You are right but I was just making a point really.
I prefer if people use the term old DDR as I do.
No big deal though.

I don't have use for yet another forum but there are folks who *Only* breed West German Working lines and folks who *Only* breed Czech / DDR lines and some folks who do intermingle the three....
..and there are some clear differences in type both physically and temperament-wise between all 3 ....
I imagine there may continue to be some separation by type as long as people differentie between a sport dog and a more civil dog, no?
