PL, I think you are misunderstanding my post. I am sure the dog is civil. My post was merely pointing out that many on here do not know what civil entails and will perceive their chihuahua as civil for lighting up on a guy. I know this place is a war zone, but don't be so sharp! I said I liked the video and I thought I reiterated the fact.

How was I being sharp? I answered your questions and asked for your input?

I just thought you were getting snippy about my post. It's hard to read tone on a computer, but you seemed to be getting defensive.  Obviously I was wrong.

I dont have any video on hand and when i searched on youtube for a good video, all i got was garbage.  If you search for civil agitation you'll see what I mean.

i guess I can post this old video.  I'm sure you've all seen it before.www.youtube.com/watch

To me those 2 videos are not examples showing the same working application. The video of PL shows a dog in a alert state sensing danger reacts to a threat. The second demonstrates a bite crazy dog trained to jump a car and bite a suit, no thinking involved just go like you do on a training field. Good video but not  demonstrating the same thing. JMO

You're right, not a good example. I will search tomorrow for a good example, but to me the bite is involved. Poor handler!

Desert Dog

I think your mixing up two different videos.

Don

My apologies if I seemed snippy, it was not or ever would be my intention. The video you posted is the French Police and there is nothing Civil in that work, ie; gun fire, moving vehicle etc. IMO

We (Canczech Dogs) have discussed the video comments and recognize that there may be some confusion on "Civil Work", so we will do another one to try and clear that up.

Again, this is just our definition of civil work and the reason the video was posted was due to the high interest and discussion on my original post.

If anyone has any constructive ideas for a Civil video Please pass them on and we will make one.

This is to benefit all of us on the Forum

We just like playing playing with our dogs and having fun, thats it.

PL
The videos I was refering to was the one of the car being broken into which to me showed a dog in a alert state, then reacting to a threat by the perpetrator. To me showing a clear head and good reaction to  the situation. The other video of the mal, showed a send to a target and good athletic ability. I have seen several videos of dogs performing this same jump and attack. To me these 2 differant videos are showing completely differant situations. Where am I missing it?     Hank

Don

What does this mean?

You're right, not a good example. I will search tomorrow for a good example, but to me the bite is involved. Poor handler!

There was no bite, "Civil work",

Please provide some contructive input of what you and everyone else thinks civil work is and we will provide a video of that.

We can provide a "Civil work" video with a bite if that is what you want

Nice dog, love your videos...I would consider it "civil work"...It is very nice "civil aggression".  Just to cover all the bases and make it complete for the critics I'd include a "civil bite" on a philly wrap (not a hidden sleeve).

really.... I just want to see that dog bite for my own personal entertainment lol.
