Lief

Mirasmom {since you are clearly directing that comment at me] I'm prety sure new carpet is not full of chemicals that they somehow remove before putting it in your house so you are not exposed to all  the toxic chemicals , its practically sterile people let little babies crawl on new carpet  and it works just like the carpet in your house all the liquid goes underneath.if you put puppy pads it draws all the mosture away   we quickly move them to a bigger house once they start walking...

Lief, I hope your source for carpet remnants are clean and chemical free, but if they are made of synthetic materials, you might want to beware. Here are some links to check out:

Judy P

I just use newspaper covered with fleece pads.  I never have a problem with wetness or odor until puppies are older.  Of course my girl is very clean which helps.  I have had several rescue Mom's that were pigs including one that would poop on her puppies. She was a hog!

Judy P - could you advise me what "fleece pads" are. Is this like the puppy pads you purchase or something different.
