Touching story.  I have never encountered an orb spider, but I appreciate the service spiders do, and try to avoid killing them wherever possible, especially outside.  My greenhouse is a madhouse of spiders of various sizes and types, and that's fine by me, as I have plenty of pests in there, too, that they take care of for me.

I guess we all have to face the fact that summer is over and that the cold days are coming.  It was seventy here yesterday, and fifty today.  It's gray and dreary out, cold and miserable.

A very nice story, in time you will have the company of her offspring. Funny thing with Spiders i do not recall ever killing one during my life time not even as a Kid, in fact i never ever killed anything living and vunerable needlessly
