Tip toeing out of your room while the others are fast asleep!!
I think the Germans are still getting even for the Italy FCI back a few years ago.
They washed out in tracking.

The first thing I notice about that group was they had the best tracking program to
teach new dogs tracking skills. This was back in the early 90's.
All in all if we could duplicate their approach over here we could be very competitive.
They are an all star team.....Very good.

Personally, I would rather develop my own style rather than emulating someone else. Our culture is different here and we have a tendency to "find" the sport much later in life. Who here was introduced to working dogs as a child? I know in my family we had mutts from the "pound" when I was growing up not top shelf SchH competition dogs. I just recently was able to get in touch with my old friend and helper Ray Metallo for 2 sessions per week and I have to drive 2 hrs. each way to get there. Germany has clubs every other block and each one probably has half a dozen quality helpers and a couple of judges as members. Do the best with what you have and be happy with successes earned or make yourself crazy trying to be like someone else. I know I could beat Michael Jordan in a game of 1 on 1 but someone has to tie him to a chair and sit on his lap.

These people are beatable believe me. But they..... very early started
on good fundamentals and struct with it. A name you don't see there is Peter
Engel. I talked to Peter when he had just got Oscar his stud. The success he
had was Phenomenal. Peter, Reiner and Knut were in Malinois just about the
time I got in. Peter had a dog Igor, that I had a son off of. So it was a combination
of things that contributed to their success. But it is hard to beat confidence. You only
over come the butterflies in your stomach when you know you have a really good dog.

This is the 3d year..........the best US dogs had low tracking scores..
Dean Calderon,.. Kathy Smitht,... and Sean O'Kane. Some thing is going on.
Scores like 10 ..18...15
this is BS..........something is not right. These people don't get shit like this.
Track tampering????
Next year,...Phil ..have a double barrel loaded with rock salt and
don't fall asleep!!
