I get all my leather from Bridgeport Equipment. Great prices and great Amish leashes. I have used them for 10 years, and the quality has stayed 100%. Heidi

Years ago, I had a friend pick up leads for me at the German Sieger Show from an old guy who has now retired. The beauty of these leads is that they are made of chrome leather and require no upkeep. They are easy on the hands and become softer with age.

Today, I buy all my leads from Bill Forbes at http://www.fullgripgear.com/ You will find a telephone number and email address on Bill's website. His leads are made of chrome-tanned leather (roughly the equivalent to the ones I used to buy from Germany) with solid brass snaps of various sizes.

I've seen leads from most of the sources mentioned above. IMO, they do not come close in quality to those made by Bill Forbes. His have no stitching or rivets. Bill will make any lead according to your specifications. Actually, I go to his house and wait while he is making leads for me.

I have him "back-braid" the braided areas at either end of the lead (as was the design of the leads I used to buy from Germany). Tell Bill that I referred you--he will know what I'm trying to describe.

He custom-made a 4-foot competition lead for me that is twist braided the length of the lead--from handle to the snap. It is absolutely beautiful and very comfortable.

Bill will almost surely be one of the vendors at the the USA Sieger Show in San Jose in April.

Best show leads I've EVER had come from www.onlead.biz.  She's very fast.  Order it online telling her what you want.  It's made by the next day or 2 and sent out ASAP.  I have had my leads with in 3 to 4 days of ordering them.  She's awesome.

I happen to know someone that makes all the above by hand, and he does a very beautiful job. He can send you picture's of his work.  If you are interested Please email me privately(not the PM box) as I don't always log in on this forum.

Kelly, are you talking about Spence? If not then here is another source. If so, I will second her opinion. I have a lead from him and love it.

Handbraided and very solid. Also collars and custom braiding jobs.

Louise mentioned him, but I'll second him Bill Forbes!!!  We call his leather luscious leather!  He is a great guy who stands behind his product, and if you have any problems at all he is sure to fix the problem!
