I remember when I got my first GSD 3 years ago.. I came on here asking if it was normal too... :-) Everyone said YES!!
He is still vocal (very) and my girls are the same, in a different way. While Galan (the male) groans, Indi screams/yodels. And she has taught Isolina to do the same

So far Caya is my quiet one, except for the occasional excited bark, and Judge seems like he may be a barker, but at 8 weeks it's hard to tell ;-)

My hearing ear service dog is groaner. He also snores, loudly enough I can sometimes hear it without my hearing aids at night. Considering that I'm pretty close to being deaf, that's LOUD! Fortunately, it's not loud enough to disturb my sleep.
He also woofs in his sleep if he's having a very active dream. He's the only dog I've ever owned that does this!

Our male Pom Teddy runs and barks and yips and thrashes in his sleep. Sometimes it wakes me up, and I'm hearing impaired.
