These posts are so funny....sounds like many understand this behavior too. He does ALL of the above except the toilet..lol  ..thankfully........but he does try to shower and bathe with us too.....I will be certain to monitor the water before and after meals.....thanks.

I had a collie once that drank so much water he puked it back up.  The solution was to limit his acess to water and to put large rocks in his water bowl to slow down his consumption.  His belly got so big and hard, I was afraid he would bloat.  He was about 10 months old at the time.  I no longer have him so I do not know how it turned out.  Hopefully, your dog is just going thru a playful phase.

Put  his water in the bath tube,  or teach him to drink out of the toilet     LOL

I have tried putting a 30 gallon tub filled with water in Adis' kennel...he drops his kong in and then digs it out or dunks his head and then grabs the edge of the tub and plays tug-O-war and trashes the water all over the kennel...in the yard he constantly has his stainless steel dish in his mouth, I have finally gotten smart and take it away after he eats...otherwise it is demolished...he also likes to play soccer with it!!! Putting it in the dog house then pawing it out!!!

Trying to figure out a cement water trough for his kennel next!!!!

Brooke, does the same as yours....gulps the water and walks away while still swallowing,,,,my mudroom is in a constant state of mud and water....I finally moved the pail outside for the summer...
Good luck with yours....never ending cleaning up!!!!
