Well not all pups are pretty at that age but I do like to see good bone.  Here is my boy, Brigand vom Eichenluft, at 11 weeks.

Thanks Kelly he sure was a good protector.
Alderbach-that is a good looking pup!! Love the bone and pigment. Nice ear set too. That is the look of a pup I like to see

Their lives go way too quickly LAVK-9.  Glad you shared such satisfying time with your boy.  I am going to enjoy every minute with my "little" man who has a really terrific temperament too.  He is out of Bandit vom Wolfsheim and Queen vom Teufesgrund who is my Strut's mother too.  Barb

LAVK-9--thanks for sharing the pedigree. My new DDR girl, Xita, goes back to Addi v Tonteichen through Arek v u Heimaturt--I remember seeing the advertisements for Addi back in the 80s, early 90s, when I was looking for my first GSD--I always admired how handsome he was. But back then, I was intimidated by the hype from AKC breeders and thought I couldn't handle a "German working dog" and ended up looking elsewhere for my first GSD.

I've only had Xita for about 6 weeks and it's been really cool to get to know her and to earn her trust. She's really a very different sort of dog than my other workingline dogs, and definitely is much more likely to guard me (the yard, the house, her puppies, her ball, her crate) in a very serious but very calm way. IOW, she's totally clear-headed when she goes into guarding and calms immediately afterwards (although, I actually think she's laughing when she "guards" the ball from the cat, who just wanted to headbutt her).

Here's a picture of her from Sunday, after delivering 8 puppies--

Christine...She is pretty!! Is that the one in your avatar? Love the red behind the ears.I had a female that had that but then it got darker. Who is the sire of the pups? From what I hear from people who knew  Addi he was  a serious dog. I am so glad that I was blessed with a dog like him.I would like another as that is more so the temperament of a GSD I like. Dar is good but doesn't have that hardness that Etu did.If i could have something with lines that he had that would be awesome!! They seem to be disapearing.

Added: Got cut off was trying to get some tech support for my computer and they actually called me.Of course they haven't helped though.Don't get screwed by the Cyber Defender people!!! I am pissed that i fell for it cause it was on TV. DUH.

Anywho...Saw the pedigree of your girl Xita.Beautiful picture of her!! I would love to see how the pups turn out.Hope something good comes of the SAR group and that I will have the money soon. Maybe I could get one of Xita's pups unless they are all spoken for.Been wanting another blk/tan female of a bi color....maybe even a nice black. I guess i would just have to see what catched my eye when they are 6 wks.

Added more lol- Saw your web site and saw the sire of the pups. Very nice!

Xita is one glorious looking female!  You are lucky to have such a beauty who sounds super in the head too!  Barb

Thanks! I am really liking her--sound, beautiful, good mother, titled, Koer 1, and V-rated--and just turned 3 years old. Just imported her, pregnant, in early June. The dog in my icon is Coal--so no relation to Xita.

All the puppies are black or black sable--3 solid black males, 3 black sable girls, 2 black girls. Would love to see some of them in a SAR home, so feel free to email me if you're interested.

Hey Barb--thank you as well. I had hoped to meet you at the puppy party next weekend, but I think these baby puppies are going to prevent that. :(

Will do Christine.I would like to get a few dogs on hand for the SAR group here. We have a mutt puppy that has potential but personaly I would rather have dogs from lines I know that are good workers. This pup we have has probably 10 different breeds and i have no idea what and what temperament is going to come out. lol Seem pretty good now and the gal that is handling him and is going to take the training lessons from me has been taking him everywhere.I still would rather have a solid team of GSDs I know will work out and have the drive. But we will see.I amstill trying to get them to get grants for more funding for this program. It would just be easier and quicker for me to have a group of dogs to train and then have the SAR handlers come in to the mix. I think it would be more benificial. Oh well I keep trying to beat some sence in to them.lol I will keep you posted.
