People are always recommending pumpkin, I think it's overrated. The fact that there's a canned pumpkin (no different than store brand pumpkin, but has a dog on the can?) marketed specifically for dogs is strange.
It's given to add fiber to the diet. There's 2.5 grams of fiber in a 1/4 can of pumpkin, so it seems you'd have to add at least that much to have any effect. Also has some sugar.
There are other foods like peas that have higher fiber, and those are easy to find canned. Brown rice, oat bran, oats, etc. are others. IMO best source of fiber is green tripe.

I agree with that, green tripe works great, and I also use probiotics when the dogs get stressed from the heat, purina makes a good supplement called Fortiflora, give one packet with the meal and the diarrhea is gone usually the next .
day . Also make sure to put plenty of warm water in with the food.
