How old is your dog Maggie?

Thanks for the tip Yogi.

In my new house I will have a kennel and a dog run.

I am thinking of concrete flooring and the horse mat.

My kennels are all concrete flooring - before I got the mats I worried about them being on something so hard - their nails being worn down to a knub, their elbows hair rubbed off from laying on concrete, the heat coming off of the concrete on the outside kennels and making their feet spread in an undesirable manner....

All I have to say is those dogs that ripped to pieces - they must be Gators..lol.  I put it in one of my kennels to start with- for the first time and my male went to try to pull the end - I told him no and he hasnt messed with it since dunno why -maybe taste bad..  But even so - he still couldnt pick it up.   go figure - chances are - they aren't going to mess with it - I got 4 dogs and they havent bothered with them... but every dog is different I guess - If one thing doesnt work then you have to try something else... so for some 'horsemats' others - I dunno..  I am glad I found the mats

Maggie didnt mean to still your thread - what did you decide to go with?

I wonder if you are talking about the same horse mats Maggie.  They don't come in a  roll, and you'd need a saw to cut them I'd  think.

Like Melissa said, they are 4x6 and thick hard rubber.  I can barely lift the corners, or drag them.  They are tough!  If your dog chewed them he is a gator!

RS -- Yes, it is a Horse Mat - but it is 1/2 inch thick .... still very, very hard for me to cut it.  I bought the smallest size roll they carried --  6 ft by 10 ft .

Actually horse mats do come in rolls - but if you got a 6 x 10 roll - you would have to have a forklift to move it around..  not to discredit those that say their dogs shredded them - was this just the 4x6 or the entire one piece horse mat?

My Asko has had ate thru his kennel - 9 ga- he eats all of my wood, whether it is logs out of the woodpile or 150 pound   platform for him to lay on..he can pick those up and move them.  he is strong - I would like to see pictures of these gators that ate these mats I am talking about.

Yes, I got a 6 x 10 roll over the internet.  However, it is just 1/2 inch thick -- but still hard to cut.   For some reason the name "Bulldog" Rubber sticks in my mind.   Except for the piece that I cut, the rest is still rolled up in the garage.   It weighs a TON !!

Well, so far I have bought only 8 pieces of the Decking.   It gives him a nice area to lie down in the shade.   Before I invest in anymore of it, I needed to know how it will hold up in the Winter.

I also bought a 36" Commercial Drum Fan - 2 speeds for the outdoor Kennel.   It really MOVES the air !!!!!

I use em. The thickest one they have the 1in and a half ones I think and my guys hasn't chewed it up so I guess it depends on the dog
